Crew
The most important element of all: a great crew. At some point, I'm
going to want to quit, and one of these people will talk me out of it.
They'll also sing songs, tell me interesting stories, work on torn up
feet, and refuse to let me get away with anything less than one-hundred
percent effort.
Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance for the personal time and
commitment. A great crew is your greatest commodity in an ultra and I
truly feel that I'll have the best.

Lewin & Sue - Well, what can I say, my Mom and Dad
have always been very supportive of my running, and it's always great
to see them there. Of course, the first ultra they ever saw me at
was AC100, so it was a sort of baptism by fire! They've come to every
L.A. Marathon that I've ever run in (10 in a row this year) and even
some out of state races. |
Larry & Nancy - What can I say about Larry and Nancy?
I count them among my best friends. They're just plain good people.
I ran my first ultra with Nancy (San Juan Trail 50K) and the three
of us have had many a great run together. Nancy's my crew captain.
Larry will keep me going. |
Steve and Diana - are two of my favorite
people, I love running (or just hanging out) with them. I've run longer
with Steve than anyone else I know...he ran my first marathon with
me, and we've been running together ever since. Who else will sing
'70s rock with me at 3am? Diana is just plain fun to run with, we
can chat about anything, which is great for keeping my mind busy!

Mark & Patty - Two of my best friends. Mark and Patty Giebel
are always supportive of their running buddies, and are just about
the best people you can hope to have on your crew. Both have A+ medical
skills from their years on ski patrol, so I know I'm in good hands. |
Mark - Always makes me laugh, and always seems
to be able to get me going. Mark will be great on the crew.
|
Sandy - was there at my first 50 miler,
and it was good to have her smiling face out there on the course!

Charlotte - is planning on coming out partway through the race...it'll be good to see her out there! |
